Audio-Technica is producing a range of new headphones with the 'Solid Bass' moniker and the WS70 is the first of those to arrive. This is a very stylish looking portable headphone that uses large 40mm drivers to provide the solid bass for which it is named.

Housed in an attractive aluminium body the WS70 looks great, is light weight on the head and really does produce is a big sound. Midrange and top end detail is very good and they provide a spacious sound scape to get submerged in.

A relatively low 47 ohm impedance means they can easily be driven by a portable music player such as an iPod or iPhone, and offer a well extended frequency response of 10-25k.
